Two Iris

Prod. Code: 101 0505 Original (22” x 30”) SOLD Description: The thrill of the first bloom on my backyard iris! The week it bloomed, I ran out to photograph it before work several mornings before work. I couldn’t bring myself to cut the bloom, so I painted from my photos, while looking out the window for reference. Painting large is always liberating and I had several new large paint brushes which were fun to experiment with on the leaves and background. Two Iris won 1st place in the water media category at the Alamo-Danville Artists Society-Gala Spring Art Show, which exhibited April 2006 at the Danville, CA Fine Arts Gallery; and it was also juried into the California Watercolor Association’s 38th Annual National Show exhibiting October 2006 at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco.
